Gay and proud: Jorge Luis Martínez, Mexican skater

He recognizes that it takes courage to openly acknowledge that he is gay.

The Mexican skater that gave Mexico a Bronze medal at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Jorge Luis Martínez proudly confessed homosexual after winning third place in the 300-meter test in Peru.  He recognizes the responsibilities of being a pioneer and the courage that is required to openly acknowledge that he is gay.

After achieving a great participation in the 2019 Pan American games he has decided to take a big step in his personal life and an immense one in Mexican sports life by revealing, with great pride, after to get his medal: “I am gay and I am proud to be able to say it”.
