The Airports that make up the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico –among them the one in Puerto Vallarta- have been the first in the world to be certified with the Airport Health Accreditation by the Airports Council International (AHA ACI). This certificate recognizes the airport’s commitment to prioritize the health and safety measures of its passengers, with this effort they contribute to providing confidence to visitors arriving by air.

Aspects to be evaluated in accreditation include cleaning and disinfection, physical distancing (when feasible and practical), protection of personnel, physical disposition, communication with passengers and passenger facilities.

In this way, the thousands of users of the Puerto Vallarta International Airport can be sure that, from the entrance door to this tourist destination, there are comprehensive actions to preserve the health of visitors , which extend to hotels, restaurants, shops, service providers and many other public areas such as the beaches and the Malecón.

“Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico’s priority is to give its passengers a safe and pleasant travel experience. As proof of this is the present accreditation, which keeps us in the leadership of health security at an international level, applying the best protocols and measures in all of our airports, “said Raúl Revuelta, CEO of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico.

Puerto Vallarta continues to work with the tourism sector, not only to improve the travel experience but also its biosecurity. With this additional certification, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport reaffirms its commitment to the destination in taking firm steps in economic reactivation, said Luis Villaseñor, dispatch manager of the Promotion Trust.

COMMITMENT TO SAFETY

The manager explained that ACI’s Accreditation of Sanitary Measures for Airports (AHA) program recognizes the commitment of airports to the safety of passengers , airport employees and the general public, by supporting airports to evaluate the new measures and health procedures implemented as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The foregoing in accordance with the recommendations issued by the ICAO Aviation Recovery Working Group (CART), and in line with the joint health protocols of the European Aviation Safety Agency and the European Center for the Prevention and Control of The diseases.

“The ACI Accreditation of Sanitary Measures for Airports allows airports to demonstrate to passengers and governments that the measures implemented are consistent with the standards recognized and implemented worldwide” , highlights Rafael Echevarne, General Director of ACI-LAC.

“We congratulate Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP) and Puerto Vallarta International Airport for being the first airport in the region to be accredited in the AHA program , reaffirming GAP’s commitment to the safety of passengers, employees and the traveling public” Echevarne noted.

It is worth mentioning that Airports Council International (ACI) is the international airport organization, with 1,960 airports in 176 countries. The office for Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) has 270 airports in 34 countries that manage 95% of air traffic in the region.
